I actually wrote Dean/Sam!! I wrote some Jensen/JDM as well, which I might post later, but I'm more nervous about that :) This is kind of... I don't know. Based on a prompt from the kink meme, but I went so far off the rails that I'm not sure it's still what they wanted :(

I'd say it was a day and half, but that would be cutting it short. It was more like a week.

Spending nine hours in the ER with your scared child is not anyone's idea of a fun Sunday.

My girl had been suffering a sore throat and mild fever since Friday but by yesterday morning it still wasn't getting better and she was complaining of an earache as well. So, we took a trip to the walk-in clinic. Which turned into a trip to the ER and nine hours and ten nurses and six doctors and an IV with steroids and antibiotics and saline (and eventually some woozy juice for the surgery) and waiting around for the specialist (who was at a different hospital all damn day) who needed to needle out the puss from the back of her throat and a super nice nurse who checked in every few minutes as my daughter was coming out of the anesthesia and he finally sprung us at about quarter to nine at night, when she could NEARLY walk a straight line :)

She was terrified, she was bored, she was strong. She was a real trooper and all the doctors and nurses commented on how tough she was and I'm so very proud of her. But I will forever be haunted by the image of her looking up at me and wanting me to make it all go away and me not being able to.

Plus side, she's feeling much better today.

Okay, so I like John Winchester. More or less. He's never been my favourite character, but I like him well enough. He loves his kids, he's a badass and he's pretty as fuck. So yeah, John Winchester, though he could use a parenting class or two, is pretty damn awesome.

JDM, on the other hand, has never really done much for me.

Cue season 7 of The Good Wife and me swallowing my tongue each and every week because HOLY FUCK how can anybody possibly be that consistently hot?

Each and every single thing about him is more beautiful than the last beautiful thing he did. I think it's because he's not so harsh - he's easy going, lazily pretty, like he knows it and he doesn't give a fuck.

This is a man I want to watch every second of every day.

If you've never seen the show, do yourself a favour. Don't bother catching up - you don't need it to appreciate the pretty - just start watching. You won't be sorry.

And how useful would you say they are?

I've been sort of toying with the idea of getting one, because we keep getting mice in our house, every damn fall and it's weeks and weeks of setting traps and chasing them around the kitchen and I can hear the little fuckers, but alas, as a human I'm just not quick enough to track them down. I'm thinking a cat might help.

I've had stray cats show up at my door. They kill mice. They kill birds (which is hella impressive, really) and they leave them on my porch trying to gain favour. It's really kind of gross. But I'd like one to kill the mice that are in my house. Maybe centipedes, too. Do they do that?

He’s not very happy about it, but he’s going to do it regardless.
