Tonight's episode actually made me smile, a lot, despite how good it wasn't.

That was a huge surprise, because I went into it thinking it was going to suck (and parts of it did, don't get me wrong) but I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than I thought I would.  That might have something to do with all the beer I've been drinking, but whatever :)

I liked

- All the pictures Jared has of himself in his house, and the alpaca out back (wtf)
- The fact that apparently Jensen and Jared hate each other
- Jensen is a whore!
- Dean going into cardiac arrest over the Impala
- Sam sucks at acting even worse than Dean....  I'm gonna keep my mouth shut on this...
- You can't bring livers from Mexico into work
- Genevieve Padalecki (in the way that made me laugh) and how Sam figured he should find out her name and how Dean checked out her ass
- No mention of Jensen's wife.  i don't know why, but I dig that.  It lacks cheapness.
- Beating an extra partway to death so that he could still run, which they'll power up on
- I would have loved to have seen what would have happened had Dean heard one more conversation about hockey
- Misha crying like a little girl and then getting knifed!  How awesome was that?
- BAMF!CAS for the motherfuckin' win, bitches!

I did not like

- Misha's tweets.  Seriously?
- Sera and everything about her (except for how the boys wouldn't know who she was)
- "Gen" sort of bugged me, but not as much as her version of Ruby did
- Their 'heart to heart' which was totally lame and I didn't buy how either of them actually gave a shit about the other
- Pretty much the entire premise of this stupid, stupid episode.

Overall, despite the few honest giggles it gave me, this episode was on the lame side.  And sort of... pissed me off.  It was good for a few laughs, but in the end I'd prefer not to think of it as canon.  Plus, it was like one big huge waste of time that could better be spent on 'mother' and meeting up with grandad again and shit that I'm actually looking forward to.

It, as expected, came across like badfic.

I enjoyed it guiltily, but I'm going to pretend it didn't happen. counter free hit unique web

Okay, I loved your likes, except the Gen thing, although it was funny because - we GET it. You won, Mrs. P. Danneel would have been a better actress but she's not stupid so she didn't stretch her neck out on the chopping block and say, 'go for it'.
Okay, hockey. I never thought I'd say 'Fuck you, Dean Winchester' but this comes pretty close
Otters? C'mon. Funny.
The extreme narcissism of the P. family. Also funny.
Dean's a whore? Say it again, Dean, I almost came.
Killing Kripke? Who among us has not briefly pondered this?
And finally, bitch Sera? Only because she didn't go THERE with the French Mistake. TEASE.
By and large though, Peachy, you're right on target. Apart from me loving it though...but I'm a whore too.

I haven't seen you around in forever, honey!

Heh, yeah. Mrs. Jensen has a job (or so I've heard) so I'm sure she's got better things to do than a show that doesn't have a lot of viewers (according to Sam/Jared's interview) :)

I say you and me head down States side and I'll grab Dean in a headlock while you punch him repeatedly in the stomach, and all the while we're watching grainy footage of the '67 cup on the cheap motel telly. What do you say?

Dean would probably try to hit you back, but that's okay. I'll hold his hands :)

For God's sake don't hold his hands! That's one of my top fantasies right there!

Heh. Horrible as it makes me feel, I gotta agree with Meg. Dean hitting a girl is really hot!

Gonna have to agree with a lot said here. As much as I enjoyed the episode, I didn't like it.

Balthazar: If it wasn't for fanfics, I wouldn't even like this guy. Seriously, I think we got all but ten minutes of airtime with this guy this whole season. His little schpiel about the Godfather reference went on too long. Seriously, shut up.

Castiel: Thanks for poppin in, giving us exposition, and popping out again. Oh, and I hated the wing intimidation bit. It felt forced.

Fictional crew: When you show more of them and not, oh, Misha or Jim (who should've been in this episode) I feel cheated.

I loved Misha's death- because it was so unexpected- but then it was ruined by the way Sam and Dean casually contaminated the crime scene, and acted as if they didn't give two shits about the guy who looks like their friend dead on the ground.

I like Balthazar. There was just no reason for him to be in this episode, apart form getting the boys into the alternate universe (which was a stupid idea). I think they could have done so much more with Castiel here. I liked Misha's death, but yeah, Dean and Sam should have at least reacted.

Heh, like Gen did. Overact much?

But I thought when Misha died it could have been pretty cool, like I was wondering if he gets killed by an angel with the angel knife, does something happen to Cas? I don't know, I felt like that could have been interesting, but he just kind of died and nobody really even mentioned it except for how it got them publicity.

I gotta agree on so much of that....the episode felt forced, like they were trying WAY too hard...idk what happened, Sera used to be a pretty good writer under Kripke's reign but now she's drivin' the "sucks hardcore" train right into helll and taking the show with it!!! Dammit Kripke, I know you wanted to stop at 5 seasons but knowing the fans wanted it to continue you should have bit the bullet and rode it out, not abandoned it to die a miserable sucky death...we could have had another great season with him on board but now this season is just mediocre....

I was kinda sad to see "RL" Misha die, even though he portrayed himself as kind of a lil bitch...I thought he'd at least be how he is at the cons, cracking jokes and being sarcastic but they made him look like a complete pussy...I didn't like it.

Seeing the doucheyness of "RL" Jared's house was funny. Pics of himself, the feigned oppulence of the nouveau-riche, the Save -an-otter dinner or whatever, the alpaca...that was kinda funny...the best they had on Jensen was he was a soap star. It would have been funny if, to counter that, they had brought up the Gilmore Girls...that's pretty much a cheesy soap opera too....

Anyways...yeah, not my fav episode. Had a few funny parts but mostly it was a really irrelevant episode that was pretty much just an "explainer device" for the new meat suit of Raphael and of how Cas has got the weapons now...seriously, we did not need an entire episode wasted to explain 5 minutes of quasi-needed plot. Boo, Sera...job NOT well done...

Ahem, just thought that maybe I ought to point out that it was Kripke (and Ben Edlund) who wrote this ep! Not Sera.

posted by [identity profile] witchcraftx13.livejournal.com at 10:52am on 26/02/2011
Sera must be rubbing off or something then...or maybe the Kripke is falling into a rut like when he had the "Bugs" epi made...

Thanks for the heads up.

I totally agree that overall this season hasn't been as strong as the others.

It's like I'm watching it, waiting for something exciting to happen, something that I actually want to see and that makes me go 'Yes! This is why I love this show!' but it never happens. And when it starts to happen (I loved Appointment in Samarra and grandad Campbell has me wanting to see more of him and I'm intruiged about 'mother' and I'd like to hear more about what's going on heaven) they totally drop it and make episodes like this that make me go 'why am I watching this again?'.

Yeah, an entire episode with absolutly no point, for just a few minutes of exposition to move the story along.

Last year they did sort of the same thing with the convention episode. I like that one though. Thought it was pretty well done and entertaining and at least they had something to kill in that one. This was just a step too far, I think.

So glad I missed this episode. sounds pretty bad.

Actually it didn't suck that bad. Parts were entertaining, just it was pretty lame and went way too far.

:D No one is safe from the meta power!

I loved it haha, and I'm so happy you liked part of it :P Now I only need one more betaheater to say what she thoughts to be happy haahah.

Sera?? whats up with sera? (u know it was really her?)
And Misha tweet LOL it was so funny (I'm following him on tweeter). But this I get... little weird.

Any way, I was happy to hear that war in heaven made progrest = misha is powerful haha wait no... cas is...

I don't know what it was about Misha's tweets that bothered me. They just sounded to pussy and bitchy, kind of like his character in this ep, I guess, so at least that's consistent.

Hearing about the war in Heaven was cool. I just don't think they needed and entire episode with no point to it at all just to throw us that little bone.

I laughed at some things in the ep, but overall I just...didn't get it. Actually. Which makes me feel kinda dumb, but maybe I'm just not a big enough fan. I was like, what's all that about them not talking? And about various douchey things they supposedly do? I wonder if some of it's just inside jokes. And I don't think anyone was like they really are (unless of course Misha and Gen are the most annoying people on the planet), and then dumb things happened like Jared and Jensen being able to trample all over a crime scene without anyone batting an eyelid.

And is it me, or is Sam sleeping with Gen sort of...rapey? IDK.

I liked Kripke and Singer talking about Misha's death and pretending to be sorry.

I think I was really hoping that Bobby would come home at the end and wonder what the fuck had happened to his window... ;-)

Anyway, good for a few laughs, but mostly disappointing - and largely pointless. Like you said, it was like bad fanfiction, and I wish that's all it HAD been, cos that was like an inexplicable waste of an ep.

(Also liked the whore thing. What a surprise.) :P

posted by [identity profile] rockstarpeach.livejournal.com at 12:01am on 27/02/2011
No, yeah, exactly.

I didn't get some things too, but I figure they were just trying to make the actors into characters, so that they aren't actually the people that we 'know'. Hence all the shit about them not talking and Gen being a huge bitch and the Andy Warhol pictures all over and pussy!bitch!Misha and Casa Douchalecki.

If I was going to acknowledge this ep in my head canon, Sam does not sleep with Gen. He weasles out of it and does research all night, because yeah. Rapey.

And overall, they were just way too okay with it. I excepted them to be more freaked out, especially about Ruby.

And yes! Crime scene? Hello? Plus, they don't care that this guy who looks exactly like Cas is just dead now? Asshats.

Yep, good for a few laughs, but overall, a waste of an hour that could have been better spent on actually interesting things. There was just... no point to this ep. At all.

Mmmmm, whore!Dean....

IMHO, J&J had a late one last night.

What does it all MEAN?

I'm sorry. I couldn't stop laughing at this episode. I thought it was a good episode. It was a nicer breather from the others. I think a lot of you may be taking this a tad too seriously. Just enjoy it as a funny episode. <3

posted by [identity profile] rockstarpeach.livejournal.com at 12:40pm on 28/02/2011
Perhaps you're right about taking this too seriously. I just kind of felt like this episode went a step too far. It was past amusing and into ridiculous.

posted by [identity profile] suncomeandsing.livejournal.com at 01:37am on 01/03/2011
Maybe you're right about that too. =] I was really down and out, so this episode really helped me feel better. I just kind of liked they made fun of themselves, you know? I kinda wish they made a stab at the convention thing. But oh well =]

posted by [identity profile] suncomeandsing.livejournal.com at 01:39am on 01/03/2011
Another thing I sort of haven't seen you guys mention was the Kripke death xD I found that funny. His death as the main creator, I guess. That was the only moment I found realllly cheesy.

posted by [identity profile] rockstarpeach.livejournal.com at 02:52am on 02/03/2011
I found the Kripke death scene really lame. It was all... what? Kind of western or some shit? But it was just kind of random and didn't make a lot of sense (heh, like everything else). And it was easy to gloss over, I guess, because Misha had just died the scene before, and then in the same scene, right after, Bob Singer dies.

So yeah, out of those people, The Krip is the least of our worries.

posted by [identity profile] suncomeandsing.livejournal.com at 04:58am on 02/03/2011
It was really lame, I totally agree. I guess they were just trying to signify his death as the main writer? In a weird not so creative way?

I dunno, I started out so excited for this episode and it gradually decreased as it went on. I mean sure, I had a few chuckles during the entire thing but it all seemed really forced and unnecessary. Oh, and I also burst into tears when they killed Misha off. :( I know it was supposed to be funny -and it was a LITTLE bit when I watched it again on Youtube- but that was really uncool! Misha was so innocent and sweet in this AU and all whimpering/sobbing/and slightly douchebaggish that the thought that slitting his throat to make a fricken long-distance phone call was totally acceptable and amusing really pissed me off. I also pissed off when Gen came out and told Dean and Sam that Misha had been killed and they looked utterly unaffected and bored with the information. EMPATHY Sam and Dean, EMPATHY! D: But all and all, this was NOT my favorite episode so far this season. Not. By. A. Longshot! :/ Try and do better in the next episode you guys! Please! This is my look forward to on Friday nights!! Lolz. :)

I got a kick out of Misha dying :)

And I guess the contrast between Gen's overacting and Jensen and Jared's not caring was the point. I mean, they're all supposed to be douchebags, right? So Gen seems like she's going for her Emmy when whe gives them the news, and they just can't be bothered to even pretend to care like she is.

But yeah, I was not a fan of this ep either. I agree, the jokes seemed forced and the whole thing was one step (or a few) past funny and into stupid.

You know, as much as I love to watch hockey I can't play for shit. It's sad, really. I can't skate, so road hockey and broomball are about the closest I get.

*is ashamed*
