Random BtVS/AtS question for folks

I'm kicking back watching some s4 Angel tonight (and oh, God, how hot is that picture of Wes on disc 4?), and I'm reminded how very, very much I loved the Wes/Lilah relationship.   They were so hot and so much fun and each character brought out so much in the other - I just loved every second of their screen time together.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's my canon OTP.  So I'm wondering what other people think of the buffyverse relationships, and what your canon OTP is.  And yes, I'm including relationships that were eluded to, but not confirmed, like Spike/Angel and Giles/Ethan, but not ones that are just built on sexual tension, like Lindsey/Angel and Willow/Fred.

I'd be interested, if you wanted to let me know what you think and why.  Not for any reason, just curious :)

I have real trouble getting into canon pairings because it's all on screen and no fun for me to write.
Spike/Angel was hinted but gives me plenty of scope to interpret anyway I like.
In BtVS the only one that interested me was Spike/Anya and I was disappointed they didn't do any more with it.
In AtS I would say the only one that seemed to have potential would be Wes/Lilah, for the same reasons as you have said.

But don't you ever like to just relax and watch some of Joss's fic, and not worry about writing your own? It's very... tranquilizing :)

Spike/Anya is actually a really cool one that I haven't thought much about. You're right, they would have been so very amusing together, with the potential for something so much deeper that could have added to the show and the people a whole hell of a lot.

To tell the truth I wasn't ever really engaged by any of the pairings in the shows and figured I'd never get to see what I wanted on screen so had to write my own.
Since Spike was on Angel I realised that I was entirely a slash girl and just can't get into het pairings unless they are just buddies.

Heee...
I always had to buck the trend.

Other than that...I liked Wes/Fred very much and I always thought Tara/Willow was sweet, although the whole lesbian thing really doesn't work for me. Most of the other relationships were disaster zones!

And, excuse me...You think Langel was just hinted at? Pfft!

Plus, where the hell did Willow/Fred come from?! *blinks* That was WAY out of left field!

Actually, I am a little bit surprised that it's Spangel for you. Their relationship works so much better in fic than in the series, even though you're right, it is pretty cool on screen too.

Wes/Fred doesn't surprise me though, even though I don't much care for it :)

Uh... seriously? You think Lindsey/Angel was obvious and yet can't see Fred/Willow at all? You're really not into the lesbians! True, I'm not sure how much Fred could or would have reciprocated, but Willow was so cute with her big old crush on her...

Huh...Maybe I'm just immune to the lesbianism. Although Faith/Buffy had its loud and clear moments.

Since I'm practically immune to het as well, that's probably why I liked the Spangel so much! Most of the time they were snarky and annoying, but I could see the love, oh yeah. And sometimes, I was just like, "Whoah, hold the phone! UST anyone?!" Or even ST... ;-)

Hey, you're part of the reason that Langel has become even more cemented in my mind! With your insistence on how dirty Lindsey is...My rewatchings have taken on a whole new dimension!!!! But, oh yeah...that was an even bigger UST smackdown than Spangel. Except...I like to think that had it's more resolved moments too *G*

Oh, that's rich!! I'm part of the reason!? Oh, I know I said I think he slept his way to the... middle... but I'm pretty sure that there was never anything 'resolved' between him and Angel. Though, the UST - oh yes, that is very, very apparent in a hell of a lot of places :)

And yes, I'm not saying that there weren't sexy moments between Spike and Angel, just I wanted to crack Joss on the head many, many times over the series for not doing things the way that I'd like to see them - which is why fic is so great for that.

But Wes/Lilah was done so well, that fic is unnecessary. Of maybe it's just cause hetfic sucks... ;)

Oh I really love Wes/Lilah too! One of the most interesting and sexy pairings in Angel. And Lilah is so kinky! I loved the part where she dressed like Fred mmmm good times!!

My OTP? Spike/Angel!! It's all about Spike/Angel!!! And then every possible combination of the fanged four. Spike/Dru, Darla/Dru, Darla/Angel, Angel/Dru. I like Spike/Darla too.

And I always loved Wes/Fred and Giles/Ethan too.

I was sure that you'd say Spike/Dru was your favourite. I think I agree with you about that. Besides Wes/Lilah and Giles/Ethan, the only relationships that I really liked were the vamps!!

I love Spike/Dru very very much but spangel makes me... want to wear a Spike+Angel=love 4ever t-shirt. And yes I know how silly that sounds. :)
