Because that's not a thing that's possible, on LJ. They all require at least a little bit of concious thought and effort. But enough about my pet peeve regarding the misuse of the word 'random' these days...

Also, this past weekend was my annual nerd convention, Polar Chill (formerly Polaris, formerly Toronto Trek). It was a decent enough time for an incredibly chill con, without an actor or author to be seen for light years and nothing but 50 nerds hanging out talking about nerd things and playing table top and video games all night.

We made My daughter made a Dalek, I made Captain Picard. We also made some sonic screwdrivers and a double-sided lightsabre out of beads.

It was pretty good times until we got evacuated at four in the morning from our hotel due to a fire. The alarm first went off at two, we spent over an hour in the lobby, they let us go back upstairs, then told us to pack and get out at four. It was an adventure!

because most of you weren't around many, many years ago when I first learned how to make these at a con. And it's worth sharing again :)
