What the fuck is wrong with people? [RockStarPeach]

There's this author. It's someone I didn't like to read, someone who's name I would see and think 'pass' and move onto the next story posted. I can't even remember why, if it was that I didn't like their writing, or they did something to piss me off, I don't know. But today I thought, heck, maybe something about the writing has changed, maybe I was having a bad day and something pissed me off that normally wouldn't have, so I figured I'd check them out again, just to see if my opinion has changed.

Big mistake.

So, I'm looking through their journal and I see a post from a ways back, about Jensen's wife being pregnant.

And this person is throwing a shit fit, they feel betrayed, (seriously betrayed) by someone they don't even know, having a baby with their wife. This person is convinced that Jensen and Jared are in love, that their marriages aren't real and HOW DARE THEY BRING INNOCENT CHILDREN INTO SUCH LIES.

And this person is done with J2 now. Well, they'll still write J2 fiction, because all they are now to them is fictional characters, they're done with actual people, with the lies and cowardice. That's all they should have ever been! These people are not your friends, you don't actually know anything about them and they don't owe you anything. Just FYI.

And they seem to have a huge irrational hate on for the wives. The sticky post at the top of their journal lets users know that if they use icons of the wives, they'll be banned. Oh, if you keep your opinion to yourself, you and this person will get along great.

And then... And then the comments! They're all like 'yeah, how dare he have a baby with that woman! she's going to make a terrible mother!' and 'well if Jared's baby is actually Jared's, he did the same thing'.

Dude... what the fuck? Seriously, just... what the fuck?

The next post was this person bidding good riddance to people that have defriended them because they don't share the same opinion.

Honey, I've got news for you. They didn't defriend because they don't agree with you, they defriended because you're a psychopath.

Anyway. I'm sure shit like this goes on all the time, I've just never actually seen it before. I guess my flisties are relatively sane :) Thank you guys, for being awesome.

ETA - it's funny, three people that have left comments here agreeing that his person is crazy have read, loved and commented on the crazy person's latest fic. I guess you can't tell crazy just from reading a story, but when you stop to think that this person probably believes that their story has ACTUALLY HAPPENED, it's just waaaay to squicky, man.

It's really sad when people can't separate reality from fantasy, and its even sadder when they project their fantasies onto others. These are the types of people who make it necessary for celebrities to have bodyguards and keep them from interacting with the public.

We all wan't to think we have a connection to people we like/admire/enjoy watching but we really don't, the fan(atics) think they really do.

It's sad. Sad and creepy! I don't understand what could possibly make fans think they really know so much about these people, and what makes them think these people owe them anything.

this author appears to be delusional, living in a fantasy land where fanfiction is real. To hate someone you have never met because of who they're married to, is disturbing on way too many levels to count. *shiver* It is just beyond my comprehension

I think I'm about as obsessed as they get...in a good way mind you, and mostly about the characters they play and not even the boys themselves (I hear you mocking my tattoo in my head, shut it :P)...but seriously, I can only wish them wonderful things and be happy and thrilled for their success. I could NEVER condone this sort of fannish crazy, JSYK.

Oh my god. I know who that is! I unfriended her-not bc she's a hat-but because I got tired of her ranting and whining about all kinds of shit-the show, the "beards", other writers, perceived rejections in the fandom, everything. She is a very angry woman and, based on a few interactions I've read, a big bully. I won't read any of her stuff anymore.

I de-friended her too, the words 'bat-shit crazy' come to mind, :)

I easily avoid all this kind of sh*t. I only get notifications whenever some of my favorites (you are obviously one of them) update their journals and then I check a few rec communities when I'm in the mood for something different. Aaand that's pretty much all my activity on LJ.

I don't know the people that are playing the characters in the show I love. But I do wish them all kinds of good things in their life.

Yeah, most people are completely fine. Well, a little passionate about the show and such, but not like this! I've heard about people being crazy, but I've never actually seen it before today.

You got your wish dude, Daneel tweeted earlier today that they're having a girl.

Yeah, I don't really care what they do with their personal lives. I know nothing about them and I don't pretend to, nor do I care. All I care about is what they do on my television every Wednesday at 9 :)

And yeah... that is a little weird :) Why on earth would you possibly care if Jensen has a boy or a girl? I mean, aside from the fact that everybody wants a girl, because girls kick ass ;)

And yes, AU rps only. They really are just characters. The Js we write about don't actually exist, as WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THEM. Seriously, do people not think they're acting pretty much ALL THE TIME, even during interviews and conventions? Do you think that's really them? That's only a very small piece of who they are.

I've never seen that on my friends list thankfully, but sometimes I'll come across it on Tumblr. And I'm just dumbfounded by how mean, deluded, and downright crazy some people are.

It's very hard for me to understand this hate for their wives, and I've also seen some disturbing things in regards to their children as well.

I just try to ignore these things because I doubt anything I say to such extreme people would change their opinions.

I don't use tumblr and I only ever go to fic comms here on LJ, so I've never seen anything like this either, until today. I mean, I've heard about it, people talking about the crazy tinhants, but I always kind of thought they were a myth.

I saw a post like this, it may have been the same person and I don't think I have ever hit the unfriend option so quickly.

I'm in multiple RPS fandoms, but I don't think any of it's real, I don't think I should have a say on these peoples real lives and who they date/marry/have children with.

The whole post made me think the person was pretty unstable and not someone I wanted on my flist.

I was tempted to friend them just so I could defriend them :)

Yeah, it's super creepy that some people think that based on what they see on television and read in articles, that they actually KNOW these actors. And feel entitled to weigh in how they live their lives!

I've seen a few instances of Dean/Cas fans doing cray shit, but this was my very first actual J2 tinhat experience.

So, SO many kinds of wrong...

Sounds like this person needs a lifetime of therapy.

I'm so glad that we are "normal" and understand fiction from reality.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Well I was shocked when I read it but I figured that there are some out there that are just out there and don't understand that we are the fans and they have a life that we know nothing about. They portray characters that we have come to love and be addicted to (yeah that's it - addicted to) and no matter how many might think they know them, none of us really KNOW them.

They are good actors and do their job well - unfortunately some people don't get it and see it other ways. It's sad but what can we do? We can keep from being like that and keep our reality in check ourselves.

What is the quote "don't point at the thorn in your neighbors eye when you have a log in yours" paraphrased - we have to make sure that we keep our reality in check and do the best we can.

I am soooooooo happy that I don't know anyone who is that crazy in this fandom. Cause those women are fucking scary.

I have seen this on rare occasions, because most people on my flist aren't psychopaths, that I know of.

I'm sure they're lovely and charming young men, and I'm happy they've fallen in love and gotten married and are starting families, but happy like I would be if I heard about a complete stranger doing the same thing. Because while I am a walking encyclopedia of Sam and Dean Winchester, I don't know a single fucking thing about Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki.

Wow, I missed this whole thing. I went back looking to see if I could find out what you all are talking about but I couldn't find the post. I don't think this person is on my friend list so can't comment. I still love to write J2, even if it's not AU just because it's fiction and I live in my own dream world :). Hell, I just love to write slash, period and they're so pretty, it just fits with me. More power to them in real life, I hope they are all very happy with each other and their children.

This is disturbing on so many levels. The J's are just people living the natural evolution of any other human, just hotter and with a fun job, and to hate people or cast aspersions on their character and relationships is beyond nuts. I have no idea who this person is but maybe they need a two week vaca in the asylum that Sister Jude built.

I'm a little late to the post but I wanted to share my similar experience with a different author. The author I'm talking about actually LOVESSSSSSSSS Jensen/Daneel is so/so with Jared and LOATHES Genevieve, actually she pretty much doesn't like Jared either come to think of it.

I used to actually chat and be friendly with said author a couple of years ago and she was in no way a Jared despiser.(pre-Gen of course) but when he broke it off with Sandy he started going downhill in her opinion, and when he married Gen OH MY GOD....the gloves were off! In her opinion "Gen is a whore" was becoming a common mantra. So I bid adieu and moved on cause I don't play with the crazy thanks.

So there was another author (bet it's the one you're talking about) who was insane about Jared/Gen having a baby. INSANE. To the point of calling them both whores and the baby a whore by extension. So I posted a rant much like your own about the fuckedupness of this and lo and behold crazy author number one appears to say, "I agree with you that people are crazy but it's not like the baby can choose their parents." Um....hello? So I said back to her, "Yeahhhhhh kinda missing the point there,completely." And I left it at that. I just didn't want to engage her anymore.

What gets me though is these people have so little in their own lives that they actually think that their opinions mean something. What are THEY gonna be the lucky ones to pull Jared or Jensen away from the "hussies" that have invaded their lives? Jesus.

I just don't understand wishing ill to anyone that you don't know. YOU DON'T KNOW THEM!!!! It's amazing how the internet has opened us up to so many things that we normally wouldn't have seen, beautiful things, insightful things, but man did it open the doors to the nuts also and I hate to say it, that's partially why I've stepped away from fandom. I love it still but I just get so tired of seeing the bad especially when it threatens to spoil so much good that goes on.

Heh, I think I know who you're talking about, too. I stumbled across a journal just the other day where the person appeared to be in love with Jensen and Danneel and hated Jared and Genevieve.

And I mean, it's one thing to hate a certain actor or actress (not that I don't think that's crazy, mind you, when your hate is so intense and not just of the 'i don't care for their work' variety) but to actually believe, with all your heart, that two people - who are married to two other people - are really secretly in love with EACH OTHER and are somehow deceiving and betraying you personally... I just don't get it.

It's sad, because I have so much fun in this fandom, but yeah, knowing that there's that kind of batshit out there... it's freaking me out!
