Hey, is it just me, or does Sam look, like super good in the flashback scenes?

That soft-bright light like they used to use whenever a woman was on screen in Star Trek is really working for him!

...And of course, now I'm picturing him dressed up like nurse Chapel, and... yeah, yeah, that's really working for him too :)

And they film an episode including the flashbacks in the same week, so it can't be time making a different. I guess it's the lighting & hair/makeup/costuming work making him look better and more at ease--no hunting stress?

Yeah, I'm so very much not into Sam with long hair, so it can't be that. I dunno, man. He just looks GOOD!

Sam looks excessively edible this season. I think it's cuz his hair is longer. Even though I'm finding the flashbacks rather annoying, just seeing him look like that makes them bearable to watch.

Ugh, yeah, I'm not a fan of the flashbacks, myself. I think it's because I find Amelia and her whole story line incredibly boring, but what can you do?

Oh, right. Picture Sam dressed as a 1960's-future-woman :) Yeah, yeah, that does the trick!

Meh, the tall, I hadn't noticed. Perhaps because I'm not into tall dudes, so I try to ignore it :)

Sam is so very soft and pretty in the flashbacks...but I have to throw it out there: I think it's all fuzzy soft and bright because it was a dream world for him. Something there isn't right.

Tall, yummy...and Sam in nurse scrubs makes me wanna have a trip to the local hospital.

I hadn't thought his flashbacks to be a dream world at all, to be honest. Although, there was some comment this past ep about something being 'too good to be true'... fade to flashback, so... Yeah, now I don't know.

I officially can't get the idea of Sam in a mini-skirt out of my head :)

I WAS JUST THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING! My theories are:

1) Long-ass girly hair is actually working for Sam.
2) He looked insanely moose-tall next to Amelia and her dad.
3) He was wearing this fucking SWEATER. And it just HUNG OFF OF HIM so well. Like, I'm not knocking his usual plaid get up, but that SWEATER UNF I JUST WANT TO RIP IT OFF HIM WITH MY TEETH.

Additionally, I just wanted to mention something 'cuz I saw it brought up in your comments here. People keep speculating about the soft-focus rosiness of Sam's flashbacks and last episodes reiterations of the "dreamworld" theme, and suggesting his flashbacks aren't real.

I think that the reason Sam's flashbacks are all "LALALALA PRETTY SOFT GOLDEN LALALALA" is that it's intended as a foil for Dean's flashbacks, which are all gritty and sharp and desaturated. However, Cas's reappearance, and his reveal that the way Dean remembers things isn't exactly how it happened, DOES lend itself to the idea that maybe Sam is remembering things his own way as well. (God, I wish they'd do another Tall Tales episode.) That being said, I highly highly doubt that they're gonna reveal "It was all a dream, oooooooo".

What are your thoughts?

Oh, dude, don't even.

Long-ass girly hair doesn't work on anyone, and Sam is no exception. He looked so much better with S1-2 hair. Also, Tall guys don't really do it for me. And sweaters... just no. Not unless you're Mr. Rogers or Bill Cosby.

So... in conclusion, Sam must have looked REALLY FUCKING GOOD to look good to me despite all that :) Maybe it was just my picturing him in a mini-skirt with a semi-beehive that got me through it... Mmmm, yeah... That's the stuff!

I think the same as you, by the way, Re: the flashbacks. I never, not for one second, thought it could be anything but true, and the fact that Sam had this near perfect life while Dean was in hell (okay, purgatory) was a nice visual contrast.

Although... this past ep, there was some kind of line about something being 'too good to be true'... cue one of Sam's flashbacks... So yeah. I still think it's all on the level, but I won't be AS shocked as I would have been, if it turns out to be something else.

I don't think Dean's memories are totally void at this point. They maybe aren't EXACTLY as things went down, but there's pretty much only about 30 seconds in dispute.

We can probably safely assume that the majority of Dean's memories are accurate.

Oh yeah, Star Trek lighting DEF working for Sam lol!!! Even without it though, this is the first season I've actually liked Sam's hair... and you've just ruined it for me because now I can't stop imagining how it'd look in a beehive or something, like Yeoman Janice :S Damn you.

And can I just add how much I hate Sam's flashback expression???!!! He is just NOT pulling that off as well as Jensen does it, it cracks me up every time lol

...So in conclusion, Sam makes a fantastic woman!!
