One thing I will say, is I was a little disappointed that Dean seemed to have very little problem killing that guy. I know, I know. Monster, evil, needs to be put down. But he was a human and I know Dean's always said that it doesn't matter, if they're killing people they need to be killed, but it seems like it's just too easy for him. Makes me all sadface :(
Other than that though, this was so awesome! Dean making Sam say 'ball cleaner' over and over, telling him he looks like he was attacked by strippers on PCP... Oh, happy light-hearted days of yore, I've missed you. Heh, and saying he was off hot chicks and then immediately calling dibs on the hot nanny. Dean, don't ever change.
Oh. OH! And one of the clowns sprayed Sam with seltzer from his flower? That's what the kids are calling it these days?
And Sam was so friggin' cute, with his irrational clown fear and his stuttering and trying to get out of being near them. Plus, that was probably one of the better fight scenes I've ever seen on this show!
And Sam interviewing all those people, trying to intimidate them - hilarious! And Dean, in his 30s hanging out a kids restaurant alone. *dies* And I so very love that Dean actually sort of made friends there. Children really are his crowd :)
Oh, and I also liked the undercurrent of bad-father-figure!Dean. We know he gave up a lot for Sam, but he was also kind of a dick at times and like any older brother, probably resentful and just wanting to get away from responsibility and have some time to himself (like with the striga). It's nice that Dean apologised for that.
So much good. But mostly I loved how Dean and Sam actually got along and seemed to have fun (beyond the ass-kicking and near paralysing fear) and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Though the happiness makes me fear for their coming doom. They can't seem to stay happy long :(

Let's not talk about the non-happy that's on the way.

Also I couldn't decide who had worse sideburns. Sam or lionsuit/druggy guy.

As soon as I saw the unicorn I said it had better shoot rainbows out of it's backside and it did. Great call back to past eps.
It was so great seeing the guys laughing and smiling, Dean esp. Been way too long.
Hope some of that last scene makes it to the gag reel.

Best monster. Ever.

I don't know . . . the guy was engaged in a spell that would soon get Sam dead, so Dean may have had some reasonable motivation there. ;)
This really was a wonderful episode. Warm and fuzzy like you said, scary (I may have issues with clowns now, thank you SPN), and just plain awesome. The guys plain rocked their roles, unicorns shot rainbows out of their asses, and all was well with the world.

I guess they just really don't look at life like normal people do.

Dean was so funny, all surly and "I'm gonna look like a pervert" - and then once he'd been there five minutes he was having the time of his life. He's so cute! And he stole that kid's tickets!
Heh, did you see the employees' rules behind Sam? With all the 'no sideburns' and stuff? LOL. His facial hair is too scary for him to get a job working with children. And, let's face it, it's a good job that his sideburns are frightening because he's the worst 'bad cop' ever. Poor Sam.
Ball washer! Heh. I also liked Dean's commentary on how the ladies of Casa Erotica work out their issues more productively. :D
I don't know...I can see why Dean apologised, but I wasn't sure that he needed to. Like you said, it's almost reassuring to know that he spent time being like a normal dick brother instead of the Saint Dean impression we're sometimes given. Should he have to say sorry for being as much of a dick as your average brothers are...?

No, you're right, I don't think that dick older brothers everywhere should apologise for being dick brothers, because it's pretty much the norm.
I guess it was just nice to see Dean acknowledging that he pulled some dick moves back then and feeling bad about that, versus feeling bad for every single thing ever and blaming himself for shit that's not his fault, like he's been doing a hell of a lot of lately.

I don't know which I enjoyed more... 30-ish Dean hanging out in Plucky's all by himself or Sam playing bad cop. *snerk*

What I really liked was it showing how good Dean is with kids, which we've seen before, and then him apologizing to Sam for occasionally just being his older brother and not father of the year.
Oh and am I wrong to read something into Dean's comment about being off booze? They do really need to address his drinking and I think that might be the start.

Yeah, Dean is great with kids. Which is funny, because back in the second episode Sam acts really surprised, like he doesn't believe Dean when Dean says he loves kids, so we're supposed to get the impression Dean isn't that great with kids, but he's very consistently been amazing with them, from Lucas in that episode on.
I think if they deal with Dean's drinking that they'll do it quietly. This might be the start, as you say and I figure they'll just casually mention Dean NOT having a drink, like ordering a coke or something when they go out. At least, I hope so. Because I'd like it dealt with too, but it doesn't have to be a huge thing. They have other, much bigger, problems.

Sam would have only seen Dean as his father figure, telling him what he could and couldn't do which he was bound to resent since he wasn't his father. And of course he probably just thought of Dean as his older man-whore of a brother, who only cared about ganking badies and sleeping around, so him saying and showing how much he liked kids would come as a shock.

But otherwise, Best Episode I've seen in a long time. I loved everything about it. I agree with everything you said here.
Yeah, Dean got saddle with Sam a lot as a kid (like all the time) and you know he had to get resentful, but it's nice to see it come around as an adult and to have him acknowledge it - it was such a sweet brother-moment.

I pretty much wanted to hug that entire ending :)
