Okay, how freakin' adorable was that? Seriously, on a scale of one to icky squishy hugs?

It's times like this where I seriously wish Dean had a kid, because Dean? Is awesome with kids. Then again, we wouldn't really want one hanging around all the time, but come on. They could have kept Lisa and Ben around, so Dean could visit them on occasion and go all dysfunciontal father figure. Also, that girl was pretty awesome. Just sayin'.

It makes me want to go work on that Dean and Ben AU fic I got 10K words into and then totally gave up on. I'm feeling Daddy!Dean right now so hard!

I'm also pretty pleased with the way they're handling Bobby being dead. Neither of them is okay, but neither are they completely incapacitated. They keep taking hit after hit, but I'm honestly holding out hope that they'll start to turn it around and pick themselves up again, instead of curling up in a corner and dying.

It was promising how Sam wanted to get out and help that girl, even though Dean wouldn't step away from his revenge gig until Sam was in trouble. Kind of like a reverse of the start of the series, where Dean was all about helping everyone who needed it and Sam all about vengeance.

Oh, and tell me I'm not the only one who noticed the weird Dean time-shifty thing. All crazy Trio (a la Buffy) style? It happened three times that I noticed, so it can't just be in my head, right? I wonder what that's all about. Something that would apply to Dean and not Sam, so some kind of monster curse, or maybe something to do with Cas? That would be cool.

And how cool is Frank? Damn cool, that's how cool. He's like a twisted combo of Ash and Bobby and he's so much fun and he calls Dean pet names!

At the start of the ep, they were totally checking each other out, right? They were thinking, 'Hey, you wanna? I don't really wanna, but I'll do it if you do'. Heh. Greif!sex. You know you want to write it :) According to

angelstoy Sam was checking out Dean's crotch and Dean was checking out Sam's mouth, so it seems like that's a recipe for a bunch of awesome flavoured awesome!

Also, Dean has nice hands. Or, nails in particular. Sam too. They're all smooth and shit, like they get manicures. You'd think Sam could spring for a hair cut while he's getting his nails painted pink :P

Anyway, Yay! SPN, how I've missed you. And I swear I'm going to write fic. At some point. I started a couple different ones, but they're not anything to do with canon and so I easily forget about them and don't finish. Do you guys have that problem, where you have about a dozen unfinished fics going and you probably won't get around to any of them?

It was a good ep--the kid wasn't too annoying and Dean's interaction with her was perfect. Frank continues to make me happy. And it was cute and fan-ficcy the way the boys looked at each other when the other wasn't looking.

Also, Dean has nice hands. Or, nails in particular.

hunh. I thought his nails looked vaguely purplish--smokers' hands get like that sometime, circulation problems. Or maybe I'm thinking way too~~much like an obsessive stalkery fan~~ hard.

I have tons of stories floating around, great huge epics I write in my mind and lie to myself that one day, I'm going to throw these brilliant epics down on paper. Sure I will.

Ha! Yeah, perhaps I wasn't paying as close attention to Dean's hands as you were, but that one shot where he's holding that notebook, his thumb nail just looked all buffed and polished, then of course I had to check out Sam's nails for comparison, and they were even more fancy :)

Well, between jobs there's not much to do but watch TV and drink, so on the really slow nights Sam probably brings out his manicure kit...Dean really likes it when Sam blows on his nails to dry the top coat...

I thought it was a bobby thing at first too. But maybe it is a time shift as you suggest. Remember Dean is going to the 40s in next episode?

Yeah, the beer thing and the sleeping for 36 hours thing can't be right either. There must be something up with that. I actually don't remember the other one right now, but I remember thinking to myself 'this is the third time!' while I was watching, so I guess there must have been something that I thought was a little off.

Or, I could just be reading way too much into it :)

Also, Dean and that little girl at the end? Anybody else notice that he's really cute? Just thought I'd point that out.

Hey Peachy! Love this post and yeah, I have a lot of unfinished Wincest/RLF stuff hanging around, mostly written about specific episodes and I worry if I post them that people will be like, 'but that episode was like 2 years ago...', so I don't post them. And the fingernails? Mostly, I'm thinking, God, their hands are so freaking sexy, love to feel some of that all over me, especially the big paws on Sammy. And Sam's haircut? I have one word...SIDEBURNS! What's up with those honking things Jared has growing? Trim them up, baby. I keep thinking they look weird but he makes them work and they're kinda Elvis'ee sexy. Glad the boys are back and yeah, totally checking each other out in the beginning of the eppy, loved those hidden glances. And I gotta say, gosh dang it but Dean had some yummy stern looks tonight. Made me all squirmy inside :)

Right on about those sideburns. They totally have to go. They've been bugging me for a very long time.

I feel the same way about episode related fics. Most people won't bother with them so long after, but if you've got any kicking around, I'm sure they'd be awesome. Hint hint ;)

I haven't been writing much lately - but I noticed you haven't either. I've been starting to wonder where you went!

I've been writing, just not posting. Working on the continuation of 'I Drew A New Face' but getting a divorce and kind of took the wind out of my sails for a while. But the more of a jerk the soon to be ex is, the better I write so it's coming together again :) Just don't want anyone to be bored reading it so I've been working and reworking it a lot.

I'm excited to read that story, but I'm sorry about your divorce. Heh, then again, if it's making you write better... :)

I suspect Bobby is alive. Perhaps he's in some sort of facilitated care place, like maybe he's not quite right because the bullet was in the brain. I may be remembering incorrectly, and I really should be not-lazy and check, but when Sam and Dean were discussing whether to tell friends about Bobby wasn't Dean replying that Sam should ask Bobby what he wants to do? Once I was under that impression I realized that it wasn't actually said that Bobby was dead until Sam told the girl. I assumed from that that Bobby's death has to be on the down-low, like they don't want the Leviathan to know he's alive, need to keep him safe, etc. The only thing that really made me think is when Dean spoke of Bobby giving the info with his last breath. But again that was to an 'outsider' so who knows?

Anyway, I was really happy to see Dean getting the family out of the business, I find that aspect of him more heroic than the monster killing sometimes.

But this season seems like each episode is leading closer to an end. Baby is gone, Cas,Bobby, Dean having several quitting moments, the list goes on and has me a little on edge. Even Crowley is keeping the demons under wraps.

*sigh* I fear a killer season finale.

I'm pretty sure Bobby is dead, though. That send-off episode they gave him would just feel so cheap if he ended up actually being alive, and while the show has screwed us over a hell of a lot, I don't think they'd get us that emotional only to say 'Just kidding! Of course he's still here!'

That said, just because someone is dead, doesn't mean they can't come back, so I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Bobby :)

Grief!sex sounds awesome. Someone totally needs to write that. I loved this episode, except--is anyone else pissed that the impala is no longer black? Unless I completely missed that on some previous episode, they just snuck that in there like nobody would notice?

Frank is pretty good, although is by no means a good substitute for Bobby. He was funny in a completely psychotic sort of way.

I also wondered if the time-shifty thing was something to pay attention to or not. I only caught the one with the beer, but thought maybe Dean was just drinking waaayy more than he thought.

I definitely noticed the beer thing, also there were a lot of weird dove or pigeon noises. . . cooing and wings while they were in that barn. I also noticed a bird silhouette on the SPN section of the CW site. That makes me think the dove noises weren't just incidental background even though they did react to the door slam. In the scene when Dean is waking after "36 hours" the dove sounds were present even though they were inside the Winnebago. The screens fuzzed right after Frank said, "36 hours!"

I think everyone should give this show a listen while wearing headphones. Not all shows bother with good sound quality, some even rely on bad sound quality to disguise sloppy sound editing (something I noticed when watching a scene in True Blood.) There are things I have heard while watching this show with headphones that I thought others would comment on, but no one did... such as the reference to My Bloody Valentine 3D while Dean was napping with a broken leg earlier in the season.

I thought at first I was going to leave this episode with a good, happy feeling because everything seemed to have ended on a good note... but that last scene... Dean trying so hard to take Frank's advice and smile and be professional... it was heartbreaking.

I didn't get a chance to watch through the latter third of the show a second time to see if I could spot a third odd thing happening to Dean, but I do think I should point out that the only source on how long Dean was asleep is Frank, who proved earlier that his concept of time is whacked; three days, or three weeks? Is it even a reasonable time frame? Would those creatures have held off on feeding long enough? IDK... I guess it is reasonable, but maybe stretching it a little. They *had* obtained another which Dean witnessed, to keep them distracted form finishing off the girl's dad.

Yeah, I did sort of notice the bird thing, too, so in the back of my mind somewhere I was going 'birds... wings... angels... CAS'. Heh. Or something.

And I don't even mind so much that it ended kind of sad. Because seeing Dean interact with kids? That's a high that lasts for days :)

Yeah, that's a good point about Frank's idea of time being all skewed, but I still that 'sleeping for 36 hours' thing was wonky. I watched the ep again and didn't find the third instance that I thought I saw, so it's possible I just imagined it before.
